This will be nice for setting up team game if you want to be teammates with particular player. Also needed with this feature is the ability of what colors other players have selected.

I think explicit support for team play would be good for AoW, if features are going to be added at any point. Here's the things I can think of that requiring:

* Full production (3 instead of 1) at territories bordered by a teammate
* Ending the game when one team had 30 territories
* Better diplomatic options, allowing alliances between teams but not letting it be possible to trick two players of a three player team into a three-way draw by eliminating the third team member

Another thing we should be able to add is the selection of starting position by the person who setup the game. If we want our typical RYG vs BBW game, it will be better if the person who set it up can pick which team starts where. That will eliminate the bad setups because the positions are random.

I still think you should have an advantage if you have a territory completely enclosed. Maybe production should be 2 if you border only allies.

The trouble with that is that it still rewards unbalanced teams. The most productive arrangement has one really big team member, and all the others squeezed away in a corner with as few internal borders as possible. My suggestion tries to make is so that a team never needs to worry about rearranging its internal borders (there might still be some reasons to think about it, such as matching a team member's production with a bordering opponent's, but that would be higher level strategy).
